Here is the beginning of the top baffle of the subwoofer box. The subwoofer mounting will be integrated to the amplifiers rack.

As the DLS X-12 will be mounted in a horisontal position, threaded M8 holes are made to be able to lift up the woofer. This guarantees easy service of the speaker.

The subwoofer is fixed with M6 screws. The nuts are fixed between the MDF-boards.

The baffle is tripple layers of MDF, total thickness 36 mm. This ensure a real firm mounting of the woofer.

The enclousure is built in the spare wheel well. Here is the beginning of the bottom board.

The subwooferbox is built as a separate unit that later on will be attached to the amplifiers rack.

The walls of the subwoofer-box are made as a special construction of MDF-boards with a 2 mm sound deadening pad between. The deadening pads are glued with spray glue.

The box is also equiped with a lot of internal bracing.

The inside is painted with 3 layers of laquer to protect from moist.

A special damping plate are mounted on the bottom under the subwoofer. The plate has pyramid shaped surface to damp out all reflections from the speaker.

There are also some milled tracks on top of the box for the wiring to the amps.

This shows how the subwoofer box are connected to the amp-rack. The amp-rack holds the top baffle of the subwooferbox.

The amp-rack and the subwooferbox are screwed together with 7 pcs of M6-bolts with locking-nuts. The joint is sealed from the inside with a sealant glue.

The bottom of the box is screwed to the the factory bracket used for the spare wheel with a M8-bolt.

The woofer mounted in position. Here are the threaded holes used to lift the woofer. A sealing gasket is mounted behind the woofer to get a perfectly sealed box.

The box is filled with sheep wool prior to mounting the woofer.

Connection to one of the voicecoils. The DLS X12 has double voicecoils. Four wires of 6 mm2 each connect the woofer to the amp.

Heat shrink tube protects the connectors.

A MDF plate is made to cover the screws of the woofer.

A grill is integrated in the cover. A polished ring surrounds the grill.
